A New Start

A New Start

Hello all and welcome to Denae's Witchy Woo Woo Blog! I am grateful and appreciate you joining me on this amazing journey. You my friends have helped to make this possible and I can't thank you enough.

Some of you know me, but for those of you that do not, allow me to introduce myself. I am Denae, a blessed, magickal, witchy crystal loving momma of 2 beautiful children and wife to the most amazing man I've ever known. I started my own business many years ago. However, life has a way of throwing curve balls and usually when we least expect it!!

Things didn't work out at first, but, I never truly gave up on my dream of having my own witchy business. Of being able to pursue my passions while still being with my children. And now I am blessed to be able to do just that and so much more.
My interest in the craft was piqued at a young age. I was around 6 or 7 when my mother and I were walking down a sidewalk. We were "window shopping" if you will and we came upon a small brick shop on our adventure. The outside was red brick and there was a large window with a plethora of leather bound books, shiny crystals and pretty plants in hangers. It literally looked magical. I remember asking my mother very excitedly"Can we go in there Mommy?!" to which she immediately answered "No honey". I reluctantly continued forward.
But that moment stuck with me. I always remembered the shiny crystals with rainbows reflecting onto the walls. That's what made me curious about rocks. I wanted to know more! So during our library visits, I found books on rocks. Can you imagine? A little 7 year old girl with braids sitting down reading about the geological properties of minerals? That was me! And from there, my curiosities just grew and grew.
Eventually I did encounter books about metaphysical properties of crystals. This led me further down the path and to eventually researching various forms of paganism. I did this secretly. My family, particularly my Mother, Father and Grandma were highly religious. I was raised a Baptist Christian, and in our family anything other than that was considered "woo woo", "nonsense", and just out of the question. They were very hardline, but that didn't matter to me. I continued my research all the same and eventually started practicing in my own fashion.

Years later I "came out of the broom closet" and to my pleasant surprise wasn't degraded or insulted in any fashion whatsoever. The news was actually received rather well and my parents and I had a quite pleasant conversation about our individual beliefs. It was a pivot point not only in my life, but also in my relationship with my parents.

Now I regularly show them my handmade creations and crystals that I stumble upon! I'm able to share with my parents this part of my life. They support me in my business ventures as does my husband and children! And what's even better is that I get to openly educate my children and show them the beauty of the craft. It is a normal part of their life, as normal as breathing! As it should be!

This is what I hope to accomplish with my business. Not only to craft and create handmade treasures, share crystals and books, but also to help share and educate others about the craft! So once again, thank you for joining me on this truly magickal journey! I do hope you continue reading my blog! I'll be sharing some of my own spells, practices, and much much more!

Love and Light,
Denae
